Dewitt M. Lovelace

 

 

Dewitt “Sparky” Lovelace is a resident of Destin, Florida, where he lives with his wife, Susan. Sparky was raised in Indianola, Mississippi and attended the University of Mississippi and the University of Mississippi School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Sparky was a Certified Public Accountant. He was on the audit staff at Ernst & Ernst in Houston, Texas and was a member of the Texas Society of CPAs, the Mississippi Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. During his career practicing law, his practice has mainly focused on complex civil litigation. He has served as co-counsel on many national class actions and was heavily involved in the Hurricane Katrina litigation where, along with co-counsel, he represented over 2,000 Mississippi residents in a claim against insurance companies that denied their claims. Currently, he is pursuing claims against companies that violated anti-trust laws involving price-fixing on auto parts. He is also working on more than 30 cases against food manufacturers for misbranding food products. In Arkansas, he is part of a group that represents a certified class of consumers against Phillip Morris for marketing of its light cigarettes. The trial against Phillip Morris is set for August 2016. Additionally, he is part of a group of attorneys that represent all the financial institutions in the US against Target for their losses incurred in the nationwide data breach in 2013.
